The "Three" Mountaineers

"Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So . . . get on your way."

1 Mountain to go.
Georgia - Shkara
Welcome!
You have just reached the homepage of The "Three" Mountaineers. Congratulations!
This is the story of three youngish norwegian men who set out aiming to beat a Guinnes Record. In short our goal was to climb the highest peak in every country in Europe faster than anybody before us. They started in June 2006, when the record was held by an englishman, Rod Baber. He did it in 2 years, 3 months and 3 days. We, on the other hand set out to do it in less than 6 months. We set out to climb what was then 48 mountains in 48 countries with high spirits.
Not much on this expedition went according to our plans. After two months on the road only one of the three mountaineers remained. New countries kept popping up and the georgian mountain Shkara proved difficult. After climbing 48 out of 49 countries(suddenly Kosovo wanted independence...) the record attempt stranded in August 2009 when a twisted ancle ruined the fourth and so far last attempt to summit Shkara.
Anyhu. It was phun while it lasted. Well over 30.000 km driving through every country in Europe has left me with a lot of stories to tell. On this site you will find some of them.
And if you want to sign our guestbook before you leave, I´m afraid you have to become a member. We got flooded by spam:)
